Project Summary
Freelance project for Stamford American International School Theatre Department
In this self-initiated project, I wanted to experiment with motion graphics and animation in a theatre production, where the background is pertinent for creating the setting. I intended to design backgrounds that compliment the scene in an organic yet harmonious manner that doesn't completely deviate from the stage. The research before making the final designs involved studying the musical, Little Shop of Horrors in-depth and visual analysis of the color and stylistic colors that make it distinct.
The solution emulates elements from Little Shop of Horrors, namely the blood splatter and saturated colour palette (red, yellow, and green) based on the musical poster. The motion graphics of the vines filling the LED screen at the end adds a dynamic experience for the audience as it imitates the illusion they are being consumed by Audrey II
