Project Summary
Speculative project for Designer-Citizen at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago

FASHEIN is a wordplay on the words, fashion, and SHEIN.

It is a satirical commentary magazine on one of the most popular fast fashion companies to date, SHEIN. Encouraging others to not support or purchase from them. This 52-page magazine is categorised into 4 major topics: clothes, worker’s rights, environment, and copying original designs. Humor is utilised to communicate and relate to their main consumers, Generation Z, and tackle serious issues more digestibly. A “teen magazine” style with saturated colour and myriad effects and fonts is applied to represent SHEIN’s over-stimulating website and promotion of mass consumption.
